If not for Country Hen eggs, I would be a vegan. I don't eat eggs at restaurants or buy any other brand except yours. If my store is out of them that week, I just don't get any.
I first discovered The Country Hen eggs when I lived on Cape Cod a few years back, where they were carried by my local Shaw's Supermarket. At first, I balked at the steep price, but the first time I had one I was sold. I was learning about the inhumane treatment of animals raised for food products and was particularly appalled by the lifelong ordeal that laying hens endure. (I was prepared to give eggs up entirely, when I became a vegetarian.) About three years ago, I moved to Florida for about a year, I was passing the egg section of my Publix and noticed the familiar packaging. I stopped dead in my tracks, just blinking in astonished disbelief. I'm a little embarrassed to tell you that I actually started to get a little weepy-eyed that finally The Country Hen had found it's way down south! When they're sold out, I pout, but I'm also glad that so many people are sending an important message and supporting such a great company by buying up all the eggs that should have been mine!
Sorry to have rambled on, but I love your product!! My husband and I hope to have a couple of backyard hens of our own in the near future and his personal goal is to make eggs for our family taste as good as yours. A tall order for sure!
