Shirred Eggs

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 2 Country Hen Eggs
  • 2 Tbs. cream
  • Salt & Pepper


Directions:

Cook in shallow baking dishes just large enough for 1 or 2 eggs.

Put 1/2 tsp. butter in each dish. Heat until butter melts.

Break 1 egg into each dish

Cover each egg with 1 Tbs of cream and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Bake until white of egg is just barely firm (4-5 minutes)

Place dish on heated plate and surround with wedges of hot toast.

Yield: Serves 1
